No Sperry Hockey Thanksgiving 2013

Due to the Thanksgiving 2013 holiday, there will be no Sperry hockey on Thursday, November 28, 2013. We’ll be back the following week at our usual time – 9:30 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2013.

Meanwhile, David Delamere is trying to find some additional times during the holidays. It’s not official yet, but we hope to score ice times on Saturday, November 30 at 9:00 PM, as well as Friday, December 20, also at 9:00 PM.

Since there is no adult hockey league games scheduled during the holiday weekend, we tried to schedule a game on Sunday, December 1, but the Main Street Arena has scheduled public skating for most of the day, and there is a special Adult Drop-In Hockey session Sunday night from 7:45 – 9:45 PM. We’ ll keep you posted if we’re able to get some ice times.

Regardless, please have a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday, and don’t overindulge too much!

Charity Hockey Game

Trey Childs is organizing another charity hockey game to benefit the UVA Cancer Center. The game is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, at 1:30 PM at the Main Street Arena.

We will have two teams, so all skill levels are welcome. We won’t be hosting a team from another city, so the two teams will be selected from our local group.

Cost

Cost is still TBD, but it includes both ice time and jerseys. More information on cost will be available shortly.

The Main Street Arena (formerly the Charlottesville Ice Park) is located on the Historic Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Arena sits directly across from the Omni Hotel on the pedestrian walking mall. The Main Street Arena’s phone number is 434-817-2400.

Sperry Hockey Roster for Thursday November 21 2013

Here is the Sperry Hockey Roster for Thursday, November 21, 2013. We take the ice at the Main Street Arena at 9:30 PM and play for 50 minutes. We will run B and C lines with a 90 second clock.

Please arrive early so you have plenty of time to dress and be ready to hit the ice. Your slot may be forfeited if you arrive at the rink after 9:15.

Cost and Payments

The cost is $15 per player. Goalies play for free. David Delamere will be taking your contribution this week. You can make his job easier by arriving as early as possible and finding him as soon as you enter the rink. Please pay either in cash or with a personal check. Do not pay with a credit card. Please make your check payable to Sperry Marine Hockey Club.

Cancellations

David Delamere is handling cancellations, and he will attempt to fill any cancellations from the alternate list first. If you have to cancel, you can e-mail us using the sperryhockey@gmail.com address until noon on Thursday. From noon to game time, you should call David’s cell phone at 434-760-2870.
